Java Rockin Land 2010.

my dad, my mom and i went to see Java Rockin Land 2010

from 8-10 October 2010.
it was unplanned, it was actually a coincidence that we bought the tickets.
but i'm glad that we did because it was a whole lot of fun!!
(P.S: my dad didnt want to go from the beginning of the day till the end, so during those 3 days, we always arrive at around 8pm)

DAY 1.
we arrived just on time for the Smashing Pumpkins. booooring, absolutely boring. We only stayed for about 4 songs, then left.

DAY 2.
ARKARNAAAAA. love love love! all these times, i dont know much about Arkarna. in fact, i only know one of their songs which is Rehab. all that i know about Arkarna is that they are the one who sings Rehab. but i watch them anyway. and i instantly fell in love with the band. it was a nice show eventhough i couldnt sing along :D the band members were friendly and Ollie Jacobs was charming! really wish i took a picture with them! :( and after that, we have Stereophonics which was okay, but i dont really like them.

DAY 3.
arrived LATE. like really late. we arrived around 9 o clock and Mutemath was already on. we had to run to catch the show and thank goodness, Mutemath was still on. anddddd Mutemath was freakin freakin awesome!! all their attractions and their odd music instruments, simply captivating. too bad we didnt watch them from the beginning :| After that we saw Stryper which is a quite old band with all its old members, but still very cool rockers.

Personal opinion.
i dont understand the point of having a vocalist in a heavy metal band. we cant even hear what the lyrics are! they're cool with the loud sounds and headbangings and all but really, it's not enjoyable at all. but then again, people have different preferences and i got to respect it :)
i'm still quite annoyed that daddy chose to see Burger Kill (yup, all about scream and shout.) instead of Arkarna (which was heart throbbin, duh!).

P.S
the reason why we always come around 8pm is because we want to catch the international bands, however, whenever we come dad always skip the international bands and he prefers local ones. DUH, DADDY!! he said that the international bands are too "girly" and not "rock" enough. So yes, i watch all those luar negri bands by myself . Dad and mom would just wonder around to other stages to see the local bands that wont stop screaming. Overall, Java Rockin Land was enjoyable but i just really cant stand the smokes because it hurts my nose and makes me dizzy. (no offense to the smokers. peace!).

RESURRECTIONNNNNNN!!

OH MY GOD. my last post was.....5 months ago. i cant believe myself! i've been neglecting this blog as if i dont care about it which is absolutely ridiculous because i DO!! i love my blog, i love writing, and i love to express myself through essays :)

Looking back to the last few posts i made, i must say that life changes a lot!! I guess the phrase ''you know how life can be, it changes overnight" is very true. I posted that i was on diet, but i still havent succeeded yet. In my defense, it's not that i completely fail, i dont. I have tried, i have made improvements but then summer holiday comes...wedding comes...and i put my weight back on. It sucks you know...., life's tragedy. (NOTE TO SELF= gotta work on this!! i might be fat now, but its not gonna last forever. my fate's in my hand!) And i also posted about trying to get a scholarship to Singapore with my bestfriend...yeah, we're SO over it. The both of us have different plannings for our future now and it might just change again in the next 24hours, who knows. And even MORE changes if we have to dig up the much older posts! So let's move on...

Anyway, one of the many reasons i havent been posting is that i havent had any thing/events/moments worth to write about. But today i do.

It's about last night, August 5th 2010. One of the best nights of my life..(seriously. not just ANY 'best nights', last night was THE night!!)

It was GMB #Resurrection intimate concert!!

I might have to explain that GMB stands for Giving My Best, it's a band..you might call it religious band or whatever. But their music is totally global and just so cool! It's not those regular songs you hear in church, it's something great coming from great musicians! My dad is apparently the drummer of the band so i could take parts at the concert and during the making of the album (SO GRATEFUL. To God be the glory!!). I wrote songs for the album and i photographed during the concert.

So this time it is called INTIMATE concert because it has a small space (small size of room), and the stage was in the centre.. So the audiences are around the performers and so they were able to watch the concert and all those cool people on stage VERY CLOSELY. There was a disco ball hanging up there in the middle of the stage (which was just cute!!). And the show conceptors (which was my aunt and my photography teacher) managed to get something in there to make white colours GLOW in the dark. So the seats for VIP are covered with white fabric, crews and ushers are wearing white #Resurrection t-shirt, and we informed people to come and wear something white! It was nice, really, to see ourselves glow in the dark :D

So yesterday, i left school an hour early. And we went straight to grandma's place to shower and eat, and then left to Balai Kartini, the venue of the concert. I feel so so sad that i cant be there and watch through (and of course, help around) the preparations. My parents and some other people have been there since the day before to get things set up and to do this and that. I really wished i was there!! It might be tiring, hectic or whatever but I ENJOY THOSE KINDS OF THINGSSS. (again, im so grateful for my parents and their cool job!).

When I arrived, i searched for my mom (she was probably the busiest person alive yesterday), directly changed into the #Resurrection t-shirt, grabbed my camera and walked around taking photographs of people in charge (which mostly are GMBCers). And then I ran to Ko Ua (my photography teacher AND the one that lends me his ultra-mega-super-duper nikon D700!) so i asked him for the D700 and then i walked around and got back on action but this time with a better camera :D

And then, finally they let the people inside the room. And after waiting for another 30minutes, a chosen MC came to stage doing a short welcoming speech. And then my dad, and the rest of the performers started to appear from the corner of the room and onto the stage. I was literally screaming like a crazy fan! (i might be an insider, but i still go crazy over my dad and his friends...you'll know why.) And after that, they let the lights off, making the stage so dark. And then i can hear the opening music starts...i've seen them rehearse and i really have heard that opening music but OMG i was still amazed and nervous hahaha.. i hold my camera tightly and said to myself 'let's get some nice pictures tonite, echa.'

The show ran smoothly and for me it was totally enjoyable. It flowed so perfectly and it wasnt boring in any way. My dad did a solo, Barry did a solo, the pianist (om yessy, or ka yessy) did a solo, the guitarist (ko robert) did a solo. Everyone showed what they got. And then there was this accoustic session which was calming and peaceful, there was energetic song and PEOPLE SANG ALONG. i loved it!! i loveeee when the crowd are cooperating with the band. Hearing the crowd sing was just a sweet thing for me. I jumped and shouted during Shout! and Stand Out. I almost cried during Menggapai Impian because before the song, abang (the vocalist) told the audience that i wrote the song and that it was a sincere song. And i did...i did wrote the song and it was! It really was sincere and it came out of my experiences and failures. The song sounded especially good on stage last night and i felt so good. And there was also a violin player for the last song. She was graceful and she was amazing too. the Sela song almost sounded like rockestra!! OMG they should've put more violist and make awesome tunes and the song would be a perfectttt rockestra! The concept of 'intimate' really came alive.. The stage wasnt big so the performers are close to each other. And it was a stage on centre so the performers moved around many sides of the stage. I can totally feel togetherness, unity and it was just SO AMAZING. (i have been with them since the beginning anyway so i KNOW that it was a unity project. we all did everything together, shared ideas, etc etc from the making of the album until the end of the concert) And not to mention, Abang is getting better at speaking on stage!! And his testimony was really touching.. His performance was so great! Way to go, bang!

If you see the pics that i took, you can TOTALLY tell that im a HUGE fan of Barry Likumahuwa! (sorry, i let my ego took over ;p). And hey, there's nothing wrong to be slightly obsessed with such a charming, talented bassist!! But of courseee i took gazillion pictures of the others too :DDD And the guitarist was awesome too! When i saw him before, i have ZERO idea that he can be almost as cool as Barry Likumahuwa on stage haha but yes really, he was awesome...and cute! just a brief info, both Barry and Robert (the guitarist) have dimples which was really cute ;D (this is totally personal opinion!!! ;p).
Every other performers were TOTALLY VERY VERY AWESOME too but it's either they have their own wives, or they just dont catch my eyes & heart :p

I feel bad for the people who couldnt make it to the concert because of the rain, or because they got stucked at their office..or because they dont get themselves tickets to watch. It was a heck of show and it's such a shame if you had to miss it!!

Last night was one of the best nights of my life. I am grateful that im a part of this, that i can know these cool people and that i can be around them so often. Thank You God.

i was dazing in my bed with nothing to do and suddenly the thought of my english teacher popped up in my mind. she is my favorite teacher at school. she's neat, organized, she teaches well and is a very kind teacher. she's funny and school periods with her are never boring, or at least i think so.

she is just undescribable. how i feel about her is undescribeable with words.

anyway, i suddenly remembered about one english period with her. she told us to write 100 things we are grateful for in our lives. after doing this activity, i realize that i am one lucky girl. im starting to believe that God has this magnificent plan for each one of us. there's a reason why im the first child, why i study in stella maris, why my best friend is jessica and fernando, a reason for EVERYthing. and i, personally, have always believed that whining does not change any situation. so, be grateful instead.

things that im grateful for in my life right now =

1. i'm alive. perfectly healthy.
2. i have a great parents which arent over protective, which are funny, which are fun, and i love them.
3. i have a mighty God and everything in life makes sense in Him.
4. i have two siblings which i dont really like right now
but i am certain that there's a reason why they are my siblings.
5. i am currently in 8th grade and i love my class.
teachers said that my class is the best. the most attentive,
the best scores compared to others, and less noisy and less naughty.
and yes, i do feel lucky to be in 8c instead of other grade 8.
(i dont really like noisy environments)
6. i am smart. yes, i thank God for that.

7. i have my best friend by my side. Jessica Hudaya, i love you.
Jess and I are very much alike. Fashion lovers, serial movie lovers,
talkative, brainy and we have the same perspective almost every time. She's always there for me (: a total blessing from God.

a smart guy. he's beyond neat. he's sensitive (for boys' scale)
just VERY different from other boys, and i like that.
he's not noisy, naughty or underestimate the importance of
score and grades. i love his presence, he's funny.
9. i just heard the news that im gonna go for a vacation with my
'kebon kacang family' to Thailand on January 2011. its still a long time, i know. but im excited since the economy was bad lately and i havent been on vacation in ages! ):
10. i am in music environment. my dad's a musician and most of his friends are too. i have always been surrounded by musicians since i was born. until now, i got tons of songs in iTunes and i just love finding nice songs. I feel lucky for my music taste. Music really has a big impact for me, it can help me boost up my mood.
11. Jessica and I are planning to apply a high school scholarship in Singapore. we're bored living in Indonesia. we used to think that we can just take IGCSE test and directly go to college but we cant get sarjana with that ):
so since we have to go for high school anyway, we choose to go abroad. i'm excited! i pray that this plan works, and i get the scholarship (: *amen..
12. i got my future figured out! God is so kind, he let me know what i should be. it is obvious that music is my future. my parents want me to, and i do have skills, and im starting to write lyrics now and i can finish a song lyrics in 15 minutes. and i used to hate the idea of having music as my future, i always wanted to be a fashion designer. then i realize how tragically bad i am at drawing during art class.
i THANK sir lauren for his drawing class that made me realize that fashion design isnt my destiny.... music is.

was some sort of FAMILY DAY for me (:

(i love family dayyyy!)

so my grandmother's sister invited all of us to lunch because
she didnt come to meet us during CNY.
the big family (from mom's side) was there!
all my mom's siblings, my grandma's sibling, and my cousins (that i have forgotten :D)
it was such a crowd!!
we had our lunch in May Star, Central Park.
the lunch was incredible.
dimsum and some other delicious chinese dishes (YUMMMM!)
after that, me, mom, sister, uncle, aunt, and baby cousin went to
TUTTI FRUTTI for some froyos.DUCK. aaah so yummy! i suddenly miss china and their foods ):

then they all continued to Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang but i prefer to walk home
to grandma's place. then STRAIGHT TO BED coz im bloody tired :D

nyawwwww hello people!! glad to be back (:

i seriously havent posted in ages!! sorry for that, kay?
i've been terribly busy, not sure of what, but yeah life's hectic these days ):
so uh, when was my last post again?
RIGHT. it was around mid december-ish i guess :D
but dont worry, im OFFICIALLY BACK guys!!

STORY TELLING COMPETITION
so my school chose me to join this story telling competition which was held by IPEKA PLUIT.
me, monica and helena were chosen for english story telling.
my best friends, jessica and fernando were chosen for chinese story telling.
shilla and jordy were chosen for solo vocal.
chrisda, pauline and shelda were chosen for art painting.
we started practicing and preparing when it was a week to the competition date!
it was hectic like hell! i skipped almost every period in a day. i only came to class if
there was any test or if the subject was important.
i chose to read 'The Frog Prince'.
we practiced with Mr. Peter's friend, Ms. Wahyu.
she was like the EXPERT of story telling. she trained her kids to join story telling
competitions. and her kids are all great storytellers! they won so many competitions.
This Ms.Wahyu is really seriously experienced in storytelling section.
she's very kind, too :) she trained us well.
so on 25th February 2010, we went for the competition.
we were already at school at 6.15 am. we arrived to the location late, though.
we were shaking the whole time! we kept on practicing in our hearts.
we were kind of afraid when seeing other kids performing so well.
we were SURE that we wouldnt win :(
so when it was almost my turn, i was deadly nervous. i felt like i wanna die!
but thank god, when it came to my turn, i felt totally free and confident.
i spoke well, no pause (miss uni told me) and was great enough.
but we all didnt win.
for me, its not that i was bad.
but its that the school didnt prepare me the way the judges want.
im still proud of myself for being extraordinary on the stage,
i did better on stage than on practice (:

P.S =
i had my nervous moment every now and then.
i had my nervous moment during the competition, too.
but i found a quote that says,
'dont let people drive you crazy when you know its in walking distance'
so dont go all crazy when you know that it isnt THAT hard.

movie reviews. random (;

hello again ppl. im sorry that i've been SO busy (literally) on like final exams and all life troubles so i havent posted the pics that i promised ):

but oh whatsoever!

okay so this is a deff random post about movie reviews because last night i have just watched these two movies in a row.
BANDSLAM and 500 DAYS OF SUMMER.

okay, bandslam first.
my opinion about the movie is that its really cool and they got some funny lines and characters haha. its about music and i love music u know that right.
ive been a fan of vanessa hudgens too so yeah its another plus point for the movie.
and the movie is just FUN. like its colourful, loud, crowded.. and its definitely for teenagers or people who loves this sort of teen movies. because im hundred percent sure that parents who likes prison break, 24, indiana jones WOULDNT like this kind of movies no matter how cool it is.



and now, 500 days of summer.
well the movie is calm.. (TOTAL OPPOSITE OF BANDSLAM.) its like classic, if u know what im trying to say.. i LOVE zooey dechanel. hehehe. and its artistic and it has a messy story line which is very good and unique. it doesnt make people get lost in the movie. its got some funny lines too but its just weird (especially summer's character and her habit and her thinkings) and it gets me boring too. but its great, though.

BUT I PREFER BANDSLAM. hehe.

Giving My Best Community concert.

ah im still in a super jumpy excited mood right now, especially talking about THIS.
okay so GMBC is my community, and GMBC is also a band.
we held a concert last night (2nd December) due to the launching of Chapter One album and also to celebrate christmas.
i was photographer-ing last night's event (: going to post the pictures i took later okayyy!
(anyway i used Nikon D200 last night)

first thing that surprised me was that we didnt sell much ticket, UNTIL 2 days before the concert.
and even until that time, only 600 festival tickets were sold.
but surprisingly, (and thank God), we sold more than 100 tickets on the spot.
so probably 800-900 people was there.

and yes, i took nice pics last night. even me myself adore the pictures.
my favorite is ka Sisi. she has a really good face bone and she's full of emotions (mimics) and so every of her pictures were good. and probably because of the lighting too.
and her poses. haha i love her.
second, i love ko Anes. he is soooo sadar kamera. he always looks at the camera even when he's singing. haha (:
third i must say i love om Owen. i might not explain why i love taking his pictures, but you WILL understand if you already see his picture! seriously, his hair is curly and gondrong (long), he has big muscles and big body and such a rocker! very photogenic and confident.

and i sincerely think that the concert was good. it was beyond my expectation, it was cool and such a blast. i had fun and im really amazed. BARRY LIKUMAHUWA NYA GANTENG BANGEEEET PULAAAA. hihi i took tons pictures of him. haha
when the multimedia team turned on the photoclip, i dropped tears ):
it was touching and sad. its unbelievable that its been more than a year already. and its unbelievable that we passed through everything. Thank God. (:

hey people. im back! :)

guess whaaaaat, i watched New Moon yesterday. 25th November 2009. haha New Moon came out a bit late here in Indonesia and the lines are like whoaaaa. my uncle had to line up since morning to get the tickets for the NIGHT show. yea, unbelievable, i know. but i think im one of the first to watch new moon, esp in my school :)
well i think the movie was worth the line. it was great, made me smile the whole time. im netral, not team edward nor jacob. i LOVE both! serakah, am i? (;
but honestly, i hate the ending! haha and i prefer the books. i mean, im a book lover and i just loooveee how the writer could express every bit of feelings and emotions in the book. and they cut some sceens off in the movie, didnt they? but yeah, i friggin love it! :*

and im having my semester one final examination next week. im nervous, because this year has been tough. my scores DROPPED like hell. i used to get ninety ninety ninety for everything and now its been 70-90. i mean, its not like i never study this year. its just that i didnt expect this year's lesson to get triple harder than usual. i used to be like, 'ah i dont need to study' and now i feel the obligation to do it. sighhhhh :(
monday's schedule is chemistry and biology. awwww my two fave subjects! :)
and i honestly think biology is the easiest lesson out of all. :D

anyway, im wishing everyone good luck on their finals. dont be careless and study hard!

P.S = havent got time to post about the weddings and the dress and everything. its hard to get the pics from my aunt since she's living quite far away from me. it'll be soon, i promise.

my uncle is having his holy martimony this saturday.
(wedding reception is gonna be next week)
and my lovely unbiological big sister is tying the knot this saturday too.

oh boy, im sure as hell that this saturday would be one of the most busy saturday ever!
** but exciting as well :P **

anyway, im on a tough strict diet this week because i wanted to look better on my dress for the two occasion ehehehe

i was kinda confused on what to wear, ci aline's wedding dresscode is bright and semiformal while for the holy martimony, i decided i dont have to wear fancy fancy stuffs.
so i choose my white simple dress that fits all the requirements. anyway, the dress was also made by my grandma :)

a catastrophe, or not.

why hellooooo people!!

how's your week going? mine's fine. boring school stuffs, as always :P
so yea, i got 2 things to tell y'all in this post.

kayy, FIRST THING FIRST.
i asked my old times friend, Danita where will she go to college next year. she said 'esmod, fashion design' and then i was like 'what the heyyy, sama dong! but i planned about raffles. anyway, how much is esmod per year?' and her answer SHOCKED me. raffles' price is like DOUBLE esmod price. siggghhhhhh. remember my post when i talked about going to raffles with my besties? but Esmod got really good offers. i also want to go to Esmod but i DO NOT want to be seperated with my friends. its like, the plan was perfect already.. but well, im not sure whether Esmod accepts O-Level (10th grade) or not.. because if they dont, i really dont want to continue grd 11 and 12 just to go to Esmod. sighhhh God help me deciding which one i should choooseeee pleaseeeee -_-

and now, the second news will surely awe you all!
my bb is broken. WHY? because this morning, some waters are accidentally spilled onto it. dont ask, dont ask. its a heck of a long story. but to be brief, it was only a small amount of water. im pretty sure that those amount wouldnt break my bb :(((( and then im also sure that it was only on the surface of my phone, but idk why its broken like thatttttt :'(
but one quote tht really made me strong throughout the day was "never cry about loss. because God never takes anything away without replacing it."
so maybe my wish of buying a new phone would come true? hmm well, i dont know and im not sure. but i AM sure that God has a plan. like, it wasnt really my fault. it was all accident, but i know that it wasnt a coincidence. there's a plan behind all this, im sure :)

OKAY SO THIS LITERALLY DISTURBS MY SATURDAYYY!

my mom suddenly talked to me about a girl who has been learning how to play bass for only 2 years but can play like Barry Likumahuwa already. she wants me to be like that on piano.

OMG. its weird. my last post was about me not wanting to be a pianist and now the situation is forcing me to be one. hmphf.

theres nothing i can do except following what my mom wants.

right. whatever. we never know what the future brings.

okay, maybe the title of this post is a little too much :p

TODAY. november 3rd 2009. is one of the big day of my life.

TODAY. november 3rd 2009. i will be joining the ABRSM piano exam.

everyone who learns music KNOWS that ABRSM is a big, internation music school or somethin like that. they have a high standard and their exams are probably twice harder than yamaha's or any other exams.

and i am a girl who, literally, hates piano. i never really enjoyed it. fact is, i've been learning piano for 6 years and i struggled so much for piano. my dad is a musician and he wants me to at least, learn to be a musician as well. i am really lazy to practice piano but still, whenever it comes to an exam, i of course will study hard to pass the exam!

right now, im trying to get my mind to think that piano is something i do for my parents. to make them proud, and happy. but THATS IT! my dream is to be a fashion designer, a photographer, and a writer. NOT a musician. my parents has got to understand that. but we never know, i MIGHT JUST be a piano teacher someday. or someone who plays piano at church. but NO, i wont be a musician. i wont be playing on stage as a pianist, i wont be a musician. thats FINAL!

my parents always tells me that the purpose of me learning piano is that i can make money easily in the future. well yes, i see many musicians living luxuriously just because of their music gigs. HA! yeah! but what if im rich but i dont enjoy my life? i dont enjoy my job? thats NOT gonna happen. i will do music jobs only if im ever kepepet in the future :P

so yeah, back to my ABRSM exam. i did well just now. i kept on praying the entire time and i said to myself 'ready. set. go. FIREEE!' and thank God, i did good! i was great on songs, on scales, especially on oral test. but i messed up a liittleee bit on the sight reading. what the heck, i gave my best shot already! but im sure that i'll pass :) i really had a great day today, thank goodness :)
